Identity shifting is a way to transform your life from where you are to your future self. The best version of yourself possible. The you that you see when daydreaming. The future awesome you that you can see yet don’t know how to step into that person.
How you see yourself and your beliefs about yourself will always determine what you can achieve. Yet, how you see yourself right now was determined back when you were 6-7 years old before you knew how to protect your thought.
Today you may see yourself as a successful businessperson who makes $85,000. Every time you try to break the 6-figure mark, everything blows up. Why? Your identity.Or you would like to lose 50 pounds but being overweight is in your genes. Every time you try to lose weight, you fail. You tell yourself you’re going to start going to the gym, but after a few days, you stop. Why? Your identity.
You promise yourself it’s time to quit smoking, but that never works out. Why? Yup, your identity. In this podcast talks about how to Shift your Identity. Here is a quick example of how to make a change in order to achieve more success in your life.
Right now, you want to start exercising to lose weight. You set the goal of going to the gym and exercising 4 times a week. And you commit to eating nutritious, healthy meals. On day 1 you jump out of bed and off to the gym, on day 2 day 3, day 4 same thing.
But then the alarm goes off on day 5, but you’re tired, it is cold outside, and perhaps you worked late, so you hit the snooze button. And hit it again. You’ll go tomorrow. You don’t, and before you know it, you are no longer inspired to go to the gym. Just think if, instead of going to the gym script say…I am a healthy woman who eats nutritious meals and loves to exercise at the gym meeting new friends. See yourself as your future self and watch the transformation begin and continue.
Here’s another quick example, you smoke, but on January 1, you will quit smoking. Instead of saying you are going to quick smoking instead, just say over and over, I’m a non-smoker I am healthy and fit.
