For the last 2 weeks I have had a fly in my bathroom.

Now it could have been the same fly or a group of them but the point is for 14 days straight there was a fly. Why is this remarkable? Well I don’t like to kill animals, even flies, so each day I would strongly encourage it to fly to another room. Either with a newspaper, my hand, a towel or anything to gently guide or nudge the fly out of my bathroom.

Each time it ‘seemed’ to leave but upon my return that darn fly was there zooming around. This became highly irritating and I soon found myself talking to the fly.

‘Why won’t you leave’ I would ask it, ‘You will be happier outside with your fly family.’ But the darn fly would continue to zoom around my bathroom. It didn’t matter if it was 2 pm or 2 am it was always zooming around the bathroom.

Then, I had an Ah moment and got the point. What point, you ask?

Each of us has metaphorically been at one time or another been trapped in our own mind (bathroom). The Fly is our EGO ‘protecting’ us from moving into uncharted territory, trying to do something new and different.

How many times have you been too fearful to move forward? Maybe you have been too fearful to ask a business associate out to lunch to see if they would mentor you. Or too fearful to get up and dance at the nightclub. Or too fearful when you start having success so you shut down. Or when someone compliment your recent weight loss you start eating, or….well, you get the point.

After being trapped in this bathroom what happens if and when you finally opened the door? That is the Million Dollar question!

Perhaps you would see a large beautiful room in front of you and then many other rooms and finally a door leading outside to an amazing world waiting for YOU!

The Universe wants you to have amazing success so tell the Fly (your EGO) to move on then kick down the door and walk through and out the front door.
